Renting one of our apartments in Tarifa has its advantages, you can enjoy a varied cuisine close to home. Our apartments of Residencial Luna are right in the center of Tarifa, just 200m from the Puerta de Jerez, entrance to the historic center of Tarifa where you can find a multitude of bars and restaurants. If you rent our Lupita apartment in front of the sea, you can enjoy a wide range of beach bars on the beach, as well as several restaurants and bars in the square next to the Tortuga 2 Urbanization where our apartment is located.

In our photo gallery you can see the most emblematic areas and restaurants of our city, as well as a wide range of dishes to taste the typical flavors of our land. Below we list a list of the best restaurants to visit in our humble opinion.

Bar El Tapeo: Avda Andalucía 20.

If you are thinking about tapas at a good price and with fresh products this is your bar, specialists in fresh fish fries. It only opens until 16.00 and if you are staying at Residencial Luna you have it only 150m away.

Siglo XIX Restaurant: c/ Sancho IV El Bravo nº9.

Located on the popular La Calzada Street, you will just have to cross the Puerta de Jerez and go down Calle de la Luz to the end, where you will find it on the left. You will see a unique building with yellow tiles where this restaurant is located with its terrace that glimpses the Church of San Mateo in the background. Here you can choose between tapas, having a few drinks or lunch and dinner a la carte with a wide range of homemade dishes and desserts. We recommend you to order their grilled meats or the fresh fishes of the day

Bernal Pastry Shop: c/ Sancho IV El Bravo nº3.

Continuing in the direction of the San Mateo church we find this emblematic and centennial Tarifa pastry shop. Their artisan pastries are unique in the area, as are the tranvias, cajillas and tocinos de cielo. You can also taste typical Moroccan sweets and buy artisan bread made with the best healthy flours. What better way to start the morning enjoying your natural breakfasts on their terrace.

El Otro Melli Bar: Plaza San Martín.

Square next to the Food Market, is one of the favorite places to dine outdoors on its terraces. There are several restaurants such as a pizzeria, a fryer like Playa Blanca or the well-known bar el Otro Melli. Street musicians usually perform in this square to liven up the evening.

The Lola and the Garrocha: Guzmán el Bueno Street.

It is one of the streets that concentrates the largest number of restaurants in Tarifa.

Next to the popular Fuente del Mesón is the Lola, which pays tribute to the popular Spanish singer Lola Flores. Large terrace with great atmosphere where you can taste exquisite dishes such as the red tuna fish tataki  or the prawn salad, you can't leave Tarifa without having tried one of them.

Then in the direction of the Guzmán el Bueno Castle is La Garrocha, another must-stop place, especially to try the meats of the area. Retinta is the native beef of the southwestern part of the Iberian Peninsula, considered an example for its respect for the environment and valued for its genetic heritage. In La Garrocha is one of the best places in the area to taste these grilled retint meats. But you can not only taste meats, you can not leave without trying their famous red tuna fish toast with truffles, simply spectacular.

La Pescadería: Paseo de la Alameda.

This walk that starts at the height of the Tourist Office and the Alameda Theater, until reaching the Statue of Guzmán el Bueno in front of the Castle and the Port of Tarifa, is full of bars and restaurants with large terraces attached to the historic wall, ideal to protect from the Levante wind, which makes it an ideal place to enjoy the Tarifa gastronomy regardless of the weather.

Of the restaurants in this area we stayed with La Pescadería, for its wide range of fresh and varied products. If you are thinking about eating a good rice dish this is your place, since you can choose from a wide range of them, such as sailor rice, soupy rice with carabineros, rice with monkfish and prawns or sea and mountain rice.

Area of the Fishing Port.

From the end of the mall towards the road to the Island of Tarifa you will find the fishing seaport about 300m. In that area there are several restaurants dedicated to the cuisine of fresh fish from Tarifa. We especially recommend Restaurant El Ancla for its long tradition and with the best fresh fish obtained on the Tarifa coasts, in particular you can not leave Tarifa without trying the famous Voraz (Besugo of La Pinta).

Chiringuito Carbones 13.

Just 300 meters from our Lupita apartment located in the Tortuga 2 Urbanization, following the promenade in the direction of the football field is the chiringuito Carbones 13. Owned by Raquel Meroño, participant in the 5th Edition of Celebrity Tv Show Masterchef, this restaurant on the beach allows us to taste a varied cuisine with the best fresh products in the area. You can also enjoy an idyllic atmosphere on Los Lances Beach accompanied by good music, sun loungers for drinks and contemplate one of the most spectacular sunsets on the Atlantic Coast.

Café del Mar Beach: Avda Pintor Guillermo Pérez Villata 60 (Paseo marítimo).

It is located in a square on the seafront next to other bars and restaurants such as the Surla (international cuisine), the Malibu (Italian) or the cantina Mexcalito (Mexican). The Café del Mar Beach is our favorite, since it offers everything from breakfasts, lunches and dinners with varied dishes to good live music on summer nights.

Arte vida (km 73 N-340 direction Cádiz) - El Rancho Restaurant (cruce Santuario de la Luz).

If you want to leave Tarifa in search of new gastronomic experiences, we recommend trying some restaurants on the national highway 340 towards Cádiz. If you want to taste a spectacular retinta meat, your place is El Rancho Restaurant located at the crossroads that leads to the Sanctuary de La Luz, just 10 minutes by car from Tarifa. If we continue in the direction of Cadiz you can make a stop in the area known as Los Pinos, where the Arte Vida Restaurant is located, where you can eat with enviable views of the Atlantic Ocean with Africa on the horizon.

JC Mackintosh Store: c/ Batalla del Salado 39.

If you want to buy fresh red tuna fish from the Strait you can not miss visiting this store. They have tuna caught the day before by their fleet of fishing boats. Every day they allocate part of the red tuna fish caught for sale in their different cuts of the best red tuna specimens of the Strait: morrillo, ventresca, loin high, loin low, parpatana, facera. They also have frozen products,  red tuna fish carpaccio, as well as the best products of the Tarifa canning industry such as melva and mackerel fillets in oil, plus a wide range of delicatessen products.

Manoli´s  (take away): c/ Covadonga local nº4.

If you want to buy homemade food to take away and forget about cooking at home this is the best place in Tarifa to do it. Just 150m from our apartments in Residencial Luna, you can buy rice dishes, pasta, salads, Argentine empanadas, meat and fish, as well as a variety of homemade desserts.
